Job Brief
We are recruiting a Director of Sales for a top hotel. The ideal candidate will be responsible for spearheading the commercial growth of the property, maximizing total revenue across guest rooms, food & beverage, and conference/event spaces. This role requires a dedicated hospitality professional with strong leadership capabilities, strategic commercial acumen, and a solid background working with reputable top chain hotels.
The ideal candidate must have 5-7 years of hotel sales experience and demonstrate excellence in revenue generation, corporate account management, and team supervision within a luxury hospitality environment.
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop and execute a comprehensive annual strategic sales and marketing plan tailored to capture high-yield market segments.
- Maximize total hotel revenue by driving proactive sales initiatives, corporate RFP solicitations, and group business bookings.
- Analyze market trends, competitor sets, and business analytics (including STR data, Kalibri Labs, and GDS audits) to adjust selling strategies dynamically.
- Collaborate closely with Revenue Management and Marketing teams to optimize pricing, distribution channels, and promotional campaigns.
- Actively prospect, negotiate, and secure high-value accounts across corporate, leisure, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sectors.
- Nurture existing partnerships and maximize corporate customer loyalty by leveraging brand rewards initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, schedule, and manage the on-property sales team, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with premium brand values.
- Set clear performance targets, monitor individual sales pipelines, and conduct regular performance reviews for sales staff.
- Prepare and manage the annual departmental budget, ensuring strategic control over sales expenses while providing accurate monthly forecasting and revenue reports.
- Conduct high-impact site inspections, familiarization (FAM) trips, and client entertainment events to showcase the property.
The Ideal Candidate
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in hospitality sales operations.
- Must have prior experience working with a top chain hotel (prior experience with an international premium brand is highly advantageous).
- Strong leadership and people management skills with a proven track record of leading and developing a diverse sales team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, exceptional negotiation, and persuasive presentation skills.
- Proficiency in hotel management and sales software (e.g., Opera Cloud, or similar CRM and PMS systems).
- Commercially astute, strategic thinker who thrives under pressure and enjoys a target-driven environment.
- High level of professionalism, impeccable grooming, and a naturally welcoming, results-oriented mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a closely related field.
- Ability to work flexible hours, travel for trade shows, and attend networking events as required.
