The job market has never been so competitive as it is these days. Recruiters receive hundreds of CVs and don’t have the time to read each one of them carefully and thoroughly. Usually, they simply skim through CVs and pay more attention to them only if they are interesting enough. That’s why you have to work hard if you want your CV to get noticed.
Here are four (4) things you can do to grab Recruiter’s attention
1. Start with a short summary
Write a short, yet precise summary that explains your career focus in details. Say what your profession is, how long you have been doing it and what you are experienced at.
2. Use keywords wisely
Read the job description carefully and pay attention to the words that were used in it. Then try tailoring your CV to the description, mentioning your most relevant skills and experiences first
3. Make it reader-friendly
Recruiters have a short amount of time to read every CV sent. Do you they will be able to properly evaluate every single one of them under such circumstances? It is up to you to ensure they don’t get lost in a big chunk of text instead they should get into the main points quickly and clearly.
4. Be creative
Though not all jobs require you to be creative, however a CV that is not only just easy to read but also well designed will stand out among others and attract the recruiter’s attention. Certain design can simplify the reading process even more, as all the important parts will be made visible.
