Job Brief

We are looking for a Project Manager who will lead and oversee a diverse portfolio of construction and interior design projects, ensuring successful delivery from inception to completion. This is for a fast-growing real estate development company based in Abuja. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership abilities, a deep understanding of construction methodologies, and a proven track record of managing large-scale projects.

What You Will Be Doing

• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation.
• Lead the execution of construction projects, ensuring alignment with timelines, quality standards, and budgets.
• Direct and manage multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, promoting accountability and clear communication.
• Identify potential risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Resolve technical and operational challenges promptly to minimize disruptions.
• Ensure construction activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and building codes.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to maintain high-quality workmanship.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
• Provide regular updates and address concerns related to project scope or progress.
• Monitor project budgets, ensuring cost-effective procurement and resource utilization.
• Oversee financial performance, making adjustments to remain within budgetary constraints.
• Track project progress against milestones and deliverables, ensuring timely completion.
• Prepare and present detailed project reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop team members to foster professional growth and expertise.
• Identify staffing needs and participate in recruitment and onboarding processes.

The Ideal Candidate

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in construction project management with a strong portfolio of successful projects.
• Extensive experience managing large-scale and complex construction projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM, LEED) are highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) drawings.
• Proven experience managing interior fit-out projects.
• Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Strong expertise in project supervision, coordination, and critical path methods.
• Advanced skills in managing multiple vendors and subcontractors.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and influence skills.
• Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders effectively.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
